Relationships.

The good ones.

I'm always waiting for that other shoe to drop right on my head.

Gotta stop thinking so negatively.

Our fiftieth anniversary Med cruise. It was hard for me to realize that we were going places that we always wanted to go. Still wondering, as the ship gently rocked, silently in a cradle of moonbeams, if we were dreaming. Was it all a dream ?

In about April of 1986, I quit a job I hated. I walked out the door of the office. It was a warm sunny spring afternoon with birds singing and blossoms on the trees. I felt free as a bird and I started counting off all the things that were right in my world and all the things that made me excruciatly happy at that moment. "It's too wonderful to last," I thought.

3 months later the bottom dropped out of my world for the first time, when my best friend died.
