In what order would you kick out the Castaways and why?

My list: 1. Mrs. Howell 2. Ginger 3. Mr. Howell 4. Gilligan 5. The Skipper 6. Maryanne Making the Professor the winner.

Oh, no way. If Gilligan's Island were like Survivor, they would totally gang up and vote the Professor off towards the end, because he's an obvious threat to win it all. But Gilligan would be doing that sneaky Greg "act like a freak and hook up with the ladies" thing, and he'd hook up with Colleen -- I mean, Mary Ann -- in order to keep her from voting him off, and then she'd turn around at the end and stab him in the back and win it all.

That's what I think is going to happen on Survivor, anyway.

Okay, first if all, it's "If Gilligan's Island WERE like Survivor..." (sorry, grammar pet peeve!).

I think Mr. Howell is the first to go. He's the most annoying, and even though he could do work he wouldn't. Of course, I suppose that makes him Gervase!

Mrs. Howell and Gilligan would go next. The Skipper is Rudy, hanging around until they don't need him. Professor and MaryAnne vote off Ginger. And in the final vote, I'm with Beth---I hope MaryAnne/Coleen turns on Professor Greg!

Not that I've ever seen Survivor, but don't the last few people eliminated get back together to vote on the final survivor? I'd say the old people would be voted off first -- Mrs. Howell and then Mr. Howell. Ginger loses a close vote to go next. Then comes the Skipper, since Gilligan wins one of those immunity things.
Here's where the curveball comes in. Mary Ann and Gilligan team up to get rid of the professor (by now, what do they need him for?). But the five members voted off the island (plus all the assorted guest stars who made brief appearances along the way) get together to award the million to...
Gilligan!
(Hey, it's not called "Mary Ann's Island").
Wow, that was a fun and productive use of valuable work time...

Obviously, I'd have been voted off first because of subpar HTML skills...

I believe only Gilligan would be stupid enough to want to remain on the island... therefore, Gilligan. They rest would smartly vote themselves off.

I think Gilligan should win. He's got commen sense it just needs to come out.

My list: 1. Mr.howell 2.Mrs.howell 3.Ginger 4.skipper 5. professor. 6.maryanne. leaving gilligan the winner i would think that because think about it do u need a movie star or 2 millionares? he needs help and FOOD! Besides nothing good ever happens to gilligan.

1. Mr. Howell. A total waste of air, in survival terms. 2. Mr. Howell: She's almost as bad, but the money is originally hers ... Mr. Howell married into the Wentworth fortune. 3. Gilligan. I know he's the title character and all, and he's a nice kid, but he really does screw up a lot. 4. Ginger: She's used her seductiveness several times to distract men threatening to harm the castaways. That's enough of a survival aid that she lasted this long in the voting. 5. Mary Ann: She cooks. Now we're down to the Professor and Skipper, and I have to say, the Professor is the weaker of the two of them. He's contributed some brilliant innovative inventions to their survival, but ultimately, the Skipper's sea experience and raw, rugged survival instinct makes him the winner.

Obviously, No. 2 on my list above is MRS. Howell.

There are two important factors here that have not yet been addressed. First, immunity. Second, alliances.

Obviously, Gilligan wins immunity the first time - if only by screwing up everyone else's attempt to win it. I figure the alliances would break down like this - the Howells and Ginger on one side, the Skipper, Prof, and Mary Anne on the other. Now, you'd think that Gilligan would be on the Skipper's side, but it turns out that he's the swing vote, being courted by both teams. (Gilligan just wants to make people happy - and Ginger can be fairly persuasive, can't she?)

The Rich team plans to vote off the Skipper, the skippers team is aiming for Ginger. Gilligan decides to vote with the Howells this time, because of one too many smacks from the hat of the Skipper. Skipper's out.

The final two would be Gilligan and the Professor (the Professor gets past the earlier rounds because he's the only one that understands coconut technology, crucial for survival on the island. Gilligan, through sheer incompetence, is always on the winning team, regardless of what team that is.)

Of course, it probably goes to the Professor, because Gilligan betrayed everyone. So Gilligan learns the lesson that you can't please everyone, so you shouldn't really bother trying.

Gilligan never learns anything, but otherwise I like that analysis. The Howells and Ginger are schemers, while the Professor, Skipper and Mary Ann are more altruistic, so the teamings are natural fits.

Interesting side note ... Gilligan creator Sherwood Schwartz said his intention was to create a "microcosm of society" on the island, with characters representing the wealthy, the glamourous, the blue-collar, the intellectual and the agricultural. And while the show was definitely broad comedy, the interactions between the characters are pretty interesting in a sociological view. It's satire, with the characters exaggerated into types, but they do all behave in identifiable ways true to their groups.

Then there was this interesting take, that they represent the seven deadly sins:

1. The Professor represents PRIDE. He could build radios from coconuts and an electrical generator from bamboo, he must be pretty cocky.

2. Mary Ann is ENVY. She always wished to be glamorus like Ginger.

3. Ginger is LUST, oozing sensuality.

4. Mr. Howell is, of course, GREED. He married for money, and even while shipwrecked on the island, seeks out radio reports on companies in his stock portfolio.

5. Meanwhile, Mrs. Howell spends as much time as possible laying around doing nothing, enlisting others to serve her. SLOTH incarnate, no?

So we're left with ANGER and GLUOTTONY and two castaways. But Gilligan is neither, and Skipper is both.

Thus we have seven deadly sins distributed among six castaways. And who keeps them there? Who is their captor, carefully foiling every hope of rescue?

Gilligan. Gilligan is SATAN!!
