Just to clarify.

I'm using Yahoo Messenger, *NOT* AOL's Instant Messenger. Maybe people aren't hearing from Dan because he's using IM, while they are using YM. But I "messenged" with him some the other night. I don't understand how it works, but I know that Dan and Peggy and Mary are not to be found in the YM database.

I wonder if YM and IM can cross talk.

In the meanwhile, ask Mike how to get YM, which (because he did it first) seems to be the OK messenger of choice.

Fritz, Look in the YM database again. My user name is bio_manager. This is with Yahoo, not AOL.

I am pretty sure Yahoo Messenger (YM) can't talk to AOL instant messenger.

I tried searching the Yahoo database for Mary and could not find her. The database must not be complete.

I think what we need is a page with instructions on how to download Yahoo Messenger (the instant messenger of choice among OKers), and an explanation of why you should download YM (keep in touch with other OKers and participate in on-line events like the Jukola coverage). The page could also include a list of the Yahoo-IDs of OKers. This seems like a job for Mook.
