Sadly, this was fairly well-documented so it wasn't a wind-up. It's actually very funny but I can't think of player (and I've got more than a few pics of him on my office pin-board) without laughing..

So the cryptic clues so far are:-

1) It was at the training ground.

2) It probably involved Shearer (large amount of posters owned by Dougal).

3) And it involved a Sunderland(ptuh) player....

If only I knew the murder weapon....

I'm gonna go for Colonel Shearer killing Kevin Phillips behind the goalposts with a traffic cone?!?!?! am I right?

BTW, Why on earth can't you use hotmail on your work PC Dougal? you can't surely think they'll be monitoring every packet you send to hotmail do you?!?!

nufc.com report that Domi and Ferguson were relegated to the mis-fits/second stream training group. Could be significant.

I wish somebody at the club would make some sort of statement on these two. If they are not available for transfer surely it would be better for the club, the payers and the supporters if we knew the situation.

If they're available would it be harmful to say we are listening to offers/considering offers, which could hopefully bring in some more buyers and then get rid of the players for more money then get a settled squad.

Frustrating, as I had hoped these two would make a significant contribution to next seasons success.

Read Bobby's wise words from his press conference yesterday. My anticipation for the season has now tripled after a few words from him. What a difference a day makes!

He says, as has been mentioned, elswhere that a club hopefully competing for honours next season must have a strong squad and in Shearer, Ferguson and Cort we have three strong players.

I wouldn't look too much into which group they train in until the serious ball work starts.

The Guardian Online has a more in depth discussion with Bobby about the New players. I can't post it on here, it must be too large, but the main crux of it says

Bassedas is a proven international, no-risk midfielder who can play anywhere in midfield.

Cordone is a striker who can also play behind the front two. He is quick, strong and can dribble well.

Cort is an oustanding prospect who can only learn from Shearer and Ferguson.

Have a read, it'll fill you with optimism for the new season.
