Hutchison to Charlton for 2.5, that is a very good deal and we should have damn well had him, unless Wor Berb see's him as a trouble maker...

He won't go there....Everton have accepted the offer from Charlton which doesn't mean the player has.....

All it'll do is make the Mackems and Coventry up their offer...

However, there was a story floating around recently that Hutch's wife is a cockney and wants to return to Lahndon ...... I would not like this blerk, a proper Geordie, to sign for the mackems - it effects my sensibilities!

Correction: substitute "effects" with " affects" in previous post.
I thank you.

he was on Soccer AM 2 weeks ago (on the phone) when Graeme Stuart and Peter Beagrie were both in the studio. He gave a massive hint then that he would be going to Charlton (same club as Stuart).

Decent buy for them at 2.5m, I'm glad he's gone to them and not us really. God knows what sort of money he'll be on if he branded the Everton offer a disgrace!

According to The Journal Hutch hasn't signed for Charlton yet, and Reidy is still in with a good chance of getting him having increased his offer to just under #2mm.
Presumably, Hutch is holding out for more money, and Everton have told Mr. Heed that he needs to increase his offer by #500k.
Don't do it, Don! You know you'll regret it.

On the news-wires:

Don Hutchison has been given permission by Everton to open transfer talks with Sunderland.

The Scottish international, who started pre-season training with the Merseysiders on Wednesday, has already talked terms with Charlton this week after a #2.5million fee was agreed with the Premiership newcomers.

Now the midfielder has been officially allowed to discuss a move to the north east after Sunderland matched Everton's valuation, having had an earlier bid rejected this week.

Hutchison is expected to open talks with Sunderland boss Peter Reid, as his potential replacement Alex Nyarko flies in from France to start his own discussions on personal terms on Wednesday night with Everton chief Walter Smith.

Bugger, bugger, bugger .....

He is expected to sign today, get the T-shirt ready is what I say.

What makes me laugh is that Hutch's missus seemed to have more say in the club he should play for than himself. His Agent is a bird as well, a man ruled by women no wonder he is so uptight on the pitch.

You're being a mite harsh DB. His wife wants to go back to Lahndon; he turns down Charlton and is coming hyem (well sort of) - sounds like a true Geordie to me.
I'm not at all happy about this transfer - it ups their class quotient significantly. I was much happier with them continuing to sign the Jackie Peeters of the football world, whoever the hell he is - but signing actually Hutch makes them a better side.
Bugger, bugger, bugger.......

Granted Clarky!-)

The signing of Hutchinson should make them a better side. Hopefully they get complacent in ther 2nd season and falter badly, then the in- fighting will start again only earlier in the season. As long as we give them a good going over. Shearer, Ferguson and Cort all in the starting XI for that one!!

They couldn't even sign this guy!! Optasoccer says they are hoping to sign Ray Parlour, I don't think so somehow?!! RANGERS captain Lorenzo Amoruso has ended the speculation surrounding his future, by rejecting a #4 million move to Sunderland in a bid to fight for his place at Ibrox. The 29-year-olds future had been plunged into doubt since the end of last term and he entered into negotiations with Black Cats boss Peter Reid about a move south of the border, following The Gers capture of Bert Konterman from Feyenoord, but they could not agree terms.

Amoruso revealed his decision to the Daily Record, saying: "I have not been able to agree a deal with Sunderland, so they will go their way and I will go mine."

That's much better news DB. Amaruso may not be top class but he's a damned site better than what they've already got.
I think they are going to have problems defensively this season, so another failure to recruit an even half-decent CB represents a victory for me.
Hopefully, they may yet still fail to meet Hutchinson's wage requirements. Where's that doll and those pins!

Keep stabbing away Clarky, you've got your work against you now!! I pray for another T-Shirt incident, whereby Don suddenly stands up and shouts at the top of his voice"Sad Mackem Ba@@ards" very much like the "Bald Brummies" in a "Question Time with Alan Partridge" manner. Classic.

BLACK CATS CALL PRESS CONFERENCE by David Allen

SUNDERLAND have called a press conference for 1.30pm on Friday, where they are expected to announce the signing of Everton midfielder Don Hutchison, and more new arrivals could be imminent.

I'd like to say I told you so.....

I hate to say it but now I find myself hoping that he breaks a leg or something before the season starts....
