Inter linked with #31m Scholes bid

Inter Milan have reportedly made an astonishing #31m bid for Manchester United and England midfielder Paul Scholes.

Inter chase Scholes - Newspaper reports suggest the world-record equaling offer was made to Old Trafford chiefs last week and that it has sparked a huge internal battle at the club. It's reported that the plc board want to cash in on Scholes - one of England's few successes at Euro 2000 - whilst boss Sir Alex Ferguson is adamant that the player will not leave.

The #31m on offer for Scholes would equal the existing record transfer, which Inter also paid out for Italian international striker Christian Vieri.

It is claimed, however, that as well as the exorbitant transfer fee on offer, Inter will also double Scholes's current salary and hand him a five year deal - which alongside signing on fees - would make the midfielder set for life.

However, until United chiefs comment on the speculation themselves, TEAMtalk is playing down reports of a #31m - despite Inter's obvious admiration of the player.

(hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!)

I have to believe that if Inter really did make a formal, written offer of #31mm - which I seriously doubt - the PLC will have essentially no choice but to accept it, despite what Taggart says.

PS: forgot to add - no he isn't worth it.

You mean he's not set for life already? Poor mite. It's a hard life.

PS. No he's not worth it. #15-20M maybe.
