I've been to toon for the last two days visiting the relies and it's the first time since January that I've seen SJP really taking shape. Am I alone in thinking that impressive the new stands are, the East stand (even the gallowgate) now looks a bit pathetic as it's dwarfed by the new developments? As it's summer & the students aren't occupying Leazes terrrace, should the club arrange another little accident with a crane toppling on the old building, hey presto we can extend the east stand without interference from the council.

OOOOOOps Ah Bu**ger!! We'v got the entire bloody terrace. Ah well....

The only argument is that we're blocking off the light from Leazes Terrace - but students shouldn't be there during the day unless they're sleeping off hangovers - and then they don't want light anyway - lets go up on that side as well.

It's surely only a matter of time before an "accident" happens. I mean look at the ingredients: students, inflamable material and "other" substances. Mark my words, that place won't see out the end of the century.

Maybe we've managed to angle the new floodlights so that the constant glare will be such a nuisance that they will ask us to raise the stand to block it out....and monkeys might fly out of my butt.

This might sound a bit far fetched but it has been done before. Why don't they just dismantle Leazes Tce brick by brick, carefully giving each brick a number, then rebuild it like a giant Lego set somewhere where it would be better appreciated. Like bang in the middle of Leazes Park (that should keep the stadium development protesters happy).
As I say, can and has been done, wonder what the cost would be though?

Everything went fine until it rained: it then became apparent that marking the identification on each brick using chalk might not be too sensible...
Great idea if they'd used something indelible, though ;-)
