PRATS HEADING FOR PREMIERSHIP? by Adam Marshall

REAL BETIS goalkeeper Toni Prats is poised to make a decision on his future with reports in Spain linking him with a surprise switch to England.

The #4 million-rated shot-stopper had been strongly linked to Primera Liga champions Deportivo La Coruna, but they are believed to be signing Jose Francisco Molina over the weekend.

Some sources are claiming that Prats has offers from both Arsenal and Aston Villa.

Javier Ispizua, the player's agent, was in London on Friday meeting with un-named Premiership clubs. Newcastle have been linked to Prats but the word is that The Gunners are the side most interested in his services.

With David Seaman reaching the veteran stage, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Arsene Wenger may be considering purchasing a new keeper but the Frenchman was believed to be pursuing more pressing options in the transfer market.

As for Villa, John Gregory continues to sing the praises of regular number one David James who, despite his high-profile blunder in the FA Cup final, is generally regarded as one of the top keepers in The Premiership. ...if not him then if the arse land this lad...wright?

There are reports around that the Makems are about to make a 'serious' bid for Amarouso from Rangers and quote "an unnamed goalkeeper" - perfect name for them says me!

That unnamed keeper is Herr Macho from Austria...current understudy to Alex Manninger and available on a free. What it must be like to support a club that claim to have 30mil in the transfer kitty!

I'll just bet that SAFC are the Inland Revenue's favourite team.
