Chief plays down Reid claims

Chairman Bob Murray has played down claims that Peter Reid will one day quit Sunderland and takeover the England job.

If and when Kevin Keegan stands down from the role, Reid's name is bound to be mentioned as a possible replacement. However Murray is not concerned about the speculation as he feels the job would not appeal to Reid.

Murray said: "Peter wouldn't have an England job because he doesn't want eight games a year. He needs the fix of game, the adrenalin, the build up, the highs and lows."
