For those, who can hear: We loaded a pickup bed full of staple Y2K preserved food today. Hauled it down to a Salvation Army office. The Lady (Missionary) showed me their stash (small pantry of many can goods). They are okay for food. But she informed me of something I did not know. Salvation Army helps out with rent, electricity, etc. She fanned a a good handfull of papers of needy applicants for financial help. Today is 08 July, The Salvation Army has not received their July money to help these folks with rent that was due on the 1st. She told me, my donation was the largest she had ever seen. She probably thought I was nuts (true). I assured her that all grains, cereals and pasta had been put into a freezer to kill the vermin, and then placed into ziplocks,and maintained at 70 degrees. She asked if I had a preference, would the food go to needy families, or would the food go to the streets? I asked the food go to the Soup Kitchens. She also told me, the Salvation Army cooks an evening meal, and they take it to the streets, to the hungry. God Almighty! Take the food to the streets, not a Golf Course.

The Salvation Army also helps families pay their heat bills in the winter. This year they will probably have a lot more families needing help with their oil bills.

I don't understand what you meant by not taking the food to a golf course though????
