How do I watch a dvd from my computer

I have a dvd that I would like to watch from my computer. I was told that you can do so and I would like to know if you know how to do this. If you know how to watch a dvd through your computer please e-mail me back. Thank you.

Answers

There are three important items you must have in your computer before you can watch DVD disc on it. They are a DVD drive ( not the same as the CD-ROM drive...different laser wavelength ), hardware Mpeg-2 decoder card and DVD player software, or DVD player software that can emmulate hardware mpeg-2 decoder. The majority of your current video display cards now a day can emmulate mpeg-2 decoder or have decoder chip built-in. Some of these cards even provide DVD player softwares as well. All you really need now is a DVD drive for your computer( DVD drive will most certainly come with software to play DVD).
