I have two questions. 1.) Is Sony still on pace to have this camera in local retail outlets in early August? 2.) Since I don't have any experience with burnable CDs this question may be a bit stupid to some, but are 3" blank CDs locally available (or at least by mail order). I have seen some advertisements for 74 minute blank cd's are these the 3" ones that would be used in this camera?

No! You want the Sony CDR for Mavica 156MB You can purchase 5 for $19.95. A lot less than a memory stick. You can also purchase 3 Re- writables for $9.98. On these you can erase and record.
