ERRRRRRR!!!!!

18:15...Newcastle United have signed Wimbledon's England Under 21 striker Carl Cort in a #7million deal. The 22-year-old frontman flew to the north east on Wednesday morning for talks with chairman Freddy Shepherd and chief executive David Stonehouse. And, after a rigorous medical, he signed a five-year contract. "I am thrilled to be joining a club as big as Newcastle United," he said. "The chairman and chief executive have impressed me with their ambitious plans for the club and I am delighted at the prospect of playing for Bobby Robson. It is a great career move for me." Newcastle emerged as one of the contenders for Cort's signature only in the last couple of days with Tottenham and Leicester City hot on the trail of the England under 21 international.

hmmmmmm - it's true...

Jeez - 7 million for a players who's scored 15 goals and didn't find the net for the last two months of the season...

I'd pay 12m for Screacher after his 6 goals at the weekend...

Welcome Carl, may you be better than your namesake Mr Serrant...

Absolutely. What we should do is insist that all board meetings are televised live, so that we know exactly how much money we have and which players the club is going to bid for. Obviously that will put us at a disadvantage to every other club but at least the club will be seen to be being honest.

Sheeeesh! Let's be realistic folks. This is business for YBR's sake!
