No files on media player

Hi

I like to use Windows media player 7 to play my VCD's. But when I open the cd's (category: vcd, karaoke, segment, cdi,...) I can't find any file to open the movie. So I can't play my vcd's on media player 7. I'm having the same problem with player 6. What should I do?

VCD mpeg files have extension .DAT. Change the file open dialogue in Media Player to look for all files. eg *.dat and press enter.

The .Dat files are not recognized on my computer. The Windows Media player crashes when I try to open and .dat file. Could anyone let me know about a possible problem that my computer has? Or are there any dependencies that I have to install initially so that I can use these .dat files?
