The gas prices are outrageous, but that article was scary. It said that they wanted to lower the price of gasoline from $30 to $25 a gallon? I only pay $2.29 a gallon. Where do they have to pay 30 bucks, Sweeden or someplace?

Err, Bimi, you should read a little more carefully. The Saudis want lower the price of crude oil from $30 to $25 a BARREL, not gallon. The price of crude oil has a direct, but not total, effect on the price of gas at the pump.

Does anyone have any stats on petroleum consumption, please? Did gasoline sales drop perceptibly because of the price hike?
