With good reason! I can imagine him assuming that kicking the ball into the back of the net would apply even with the keepr holding it :- )

Ouch!

Estonian international goalkeeper Mart Poom will miss two weeks of training at Derby after Estonias national team doctor revealed that the injuries he sustained in a game against Iron Maiden were more serious and embarrassing than first thought. The goalkeeper was playing as a striker for Flora Amateurs in an unofficial match against British rock group Iron Maiden before their Tallinn concert on Saturday. And though he scored a goal in the fixture, his memories will be less pleasant. As he leapt to head the ball into the net, the opposition stopper connected with him in the most painful of places. Poom crumpled to the turf, from where it became apparent that he had received a knee to the groin. The two goalkeepers heads also collided. Fortunately for him, one of the spectators was the Estonian national team doctor Gunnar Mannik. He denied reports that Poom was barely injured and told onefootball.com: "Mart is not okay at all. He has injury problems, both in the head and near the penis." It was previously suggested that Poom had not fractured his skull. However, he did break a bone in his face, as Mannik revealed: "He suffered a fracture of the bone around his eye and there is a haematoma (internal bleeding between tissues). "He also has contusion of the brain. This takes two weeks to recover from, but when is able to play, he must be very careful not to be hit. "He also has bruising around the penis." Mannik added that he was only watching the game out of curiosity. "This was not an official match, and I was not ready and I was there because I was interested in watching the match. "It was an accident. I ran on the field and treated him straightaway. But it was lucky I was there." A Derby spokesman told onefootball.com that the player had not yet contacted the club. Flora Amateurs won the game 7-1.
