11 . "Point.....Sunderland" Posted by ChinnorBLU on Jul-02-00 at 06:59 PM (EST) I reckon we'll get at least a point, cos JR is very good at getting results in "big games". (No I won't put money on it as I would never put money on City, would you ?? ).

Sunderland, well several reasons, firstly THAT FA Cup final (70's), secondly had many mates that have been Sunderland fans, and never met a dodgy one, thirdly I was at MR when they were relegated after we beat them 3-2 after being 0-2 down, best atmosphere I have ever been at watching City (including you lot), and then I was at Selhurst when Wimbledon put them down a few years ago, they had about 15,000 there, and only 14,999 were pissed, they had to wait about 20 mins until a result from Coventry (I think) came through, they took it so well (like so what we'll go up again next year), and finally Peter Reid, just like his style. Posted by PK on Jul-02-00 at 07:08 PM (EST) ...had a cracking session with a couple of S'land fans at the S'OL Christmas game last year. They don't tend to hate United just cause there United and they have a lot of pride in their own team (who remembers them stopping off after we won the league to boro '96?). However, there did seem to be a lot of "new fans" who wouldn't have been able to have find their way to Roker park if it had been in their own back garden. Same with the other north-east clubs I suppose. [REMOVE | ALERT] [EDIT | EMAIL | USER | REPLY | "REPLY" | TOP] 14 . "Sunderland fans" Posted by RedDevil on Jul-02-00 at 07:14 PM (EST) Yeah but this season at OT their renditions of "You'll nener walk alone" won them no brownie points from me and afterwards hearing them all phone up the radio talkshows to say how people in the stands were singing "We fucking hate scousers" or something similar during the minute silence. For the record, I was well placed in K-stand that day and it was just a few people 'underneath' who were probably unaware there was even a silence singing Jip Jaap Stam. However, that's my only complaint with them [REMOVE | ALERT] [EDIT | EMAIL | USER | REPLY | "REPLY" | TOP] 16 . "Most I've met are football lovers and passionate about their club....." Posted by ChinnorBLU on Jul-02-00 at 07:18 PM (EST) ...which is what its all about at the end of the day. Yeah they have some "90's" (96 mostly) football fans, but by and large they're true football fans unlike the toon army (sorry tsunami but you have a lot of "glory" hunters, still waiting for some glory like us). I also loved Roker park, even though it was a shithole, it was what football grounds were all about, not like the plastic sh!t we no have to endure.

Christ I sound like a right old git !

That wasn't me saying that..I only "cut and pasted" it from another site. Thought it funny that a NUFC / Sunderland debate was ging on inside a UTD site...and it was between a Leeds and City fan????
