Am I having a problem with my Sony S-70?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Hi, For the last 3 days, I have tried my new Sony S-70. Last night, while reviewing the photos in Photoshop, I remarked that 4 very subtil round dots of 15 pixels in diameter where present at the same exact locations on some of the 640 X 480 snapshots taken previously. To verify, I made a test by photographying a white sheet. On the neutral grey result, the dots were present at the exact same locations. I repeated the test, the same...The dots are just a little darker than the adjacent color(s). On a 100% scale I would put it, at the very most, depending of the situation, to be 1% darker. When to colors are very bright, I don't see the dots but...is this normal? I am new to digital camera but not new to photography and Photoshop. Could it be a problem with de CCD chip? Should I return the camera? I am surprised, this is such a splendid tool.

Any advice will be welcomed.

It certainly does sound like a CCD problem. They should give you a new camera with very few questions asked.
