scanning 6x7 slides on website

I am developing a web site consisting mainly of images taken with my pentax 67 using color transparency film. Can anyone tell me the best way to scan these images on to a website in jpg format. thank you Hal

Find someone local with a medium format scanner - preferably a film scanner rather than a flatbed. (My local lab uses a Minolta and charges $5 per frame). I don't think it's worth buying your own. They are still fairly expensive, it takes time and skill to use them, and the technology is changing so fast that whatever you buy will soon be out of date. It's easier and cheaper to pay someone else in most cases.

However, for web use you could get by with a scan from a good flatbed that has a separate transparency drawer. Agfa makes several models. If you want to buy one, try www.scanneroutlet.com. However, the good ones are also quite expensive.

Once the lab has scanned them, you'll want to color correct them to your liking, retouch where necessary (dust spots, etc.), and then size and resample them for the web. I use Photoshop 5 for that, but the much less expensive Photoshop LE should be all you need.
