I don't know why you Americans are bitching about the price of gasoline. Every where else in the world the price of gas is five to ten times as much as you Americans pay!

When you pay as much as the Europeans do, then you can bitch about the price of gas. Until then, kwitchurbitchin!

It went up 2 cents at one station. Stayed about the same everywhere else. Looks like the C(r)eep is right again. Why can't he be wrong just once? Now he'll be bragging about how he is a genius and we are idiots all over again. Brian will become confused and start thinking C (r)eeper is a genius. Decker will claim he is the only genius. Heller will claim they are all idiots, becuase Heller is the only genius.

Stop giving us this horses*it about we lucky Americans. Our country is bigger than your whole continent. The amount of driving that is a nesessity here is unheard of there. Just because we won't put up with the equivalent of $2 to $3 in taxes on a gallon of gas doesn't mean we are getting by cheap. Some Goveners here are suspending the state gas tax untill the price of the GAS comes down to reasionable levels. Check out the situation for yourselves and you will find that the price for the GAS is about the same worldwide given simular shipping costs and stop telling us how lucky we are just because you are getting the shaft from your government and the taxes you pay!

$1.89/1.99/2.09 in Silicon Valley. Big jump from 2 weeks ago where unleaded 87 octane was 1.79. Interesting, since there are several big refineries in the area.

Last week, Shiek Yameni predicted an Oil Crash as energy users replaced oil with alternatives. He should know, he was the King's Oil Minister from the 1960s to the 1980s.

Today, there is an article on ENRON leading the world in trading Nat. Gas.

Between the Pros in OPEC and the gas people there is probably more *forgotten* about Pricing than the American Public every knew.

PRICES : 1/1/2000 San Franscisco: 1 AM my taxi driver paid $1.69 for hi-test. Reg was 1.55. Same pricing was in San Diego and Phoenix as about 15-20 cents less or about the extras it costs to do business in Calif.

In 1990 I paid $1.10 -1.20 spring and it shot up 20cents when the Iraqui Bozo invaded Kuwait.

Same doomzies (left over from the 1970s) were predicting $40-50./bbl. In the late 1980s the NY Times ran an op-ed "What happens to Texas if oil goes to $5./bbl". They recycled the "thinking" in Spring,1999.

Gas for the last ten years in DFW has been 99 to 1.39. Mostly 1.20- 1.39. Now 1.40-1.60/1.65. Diesel goes down in summer and is below $1.50.
