Delaware Valley Has Phone Problems Thousands of people in the Delaware Valley and other parts of the country are having problems with their phone service. A severed fiber optic cable is the culprit. Bell Atlantic, AT&T, MCI, Sprint and several independent phone companies in the area are able to receive incoming calls, but cannot place them. Crews have been working through the night to fix the problem. There's no word yet on when service will be restored.
