Using the Ulead video studio 4.0- for vcd -

just wan't to know if i can improve the picture quality of the vcd's i produce - to do this i would have to increase the bitrate of the capture.

Q. can you increase the video bitrate from 1150Kb/s to 2500Kb/s in Mpeg1 using Ulead video studio 4.0?

Hmm i have an older and slightly different version of ulead, BUT if it lets you make a custom template (which it should) i see no reason why not. But keep in mind, unless your playing it in a PC, then you will have to reencdoe it and adjust the vbr buffer rate (to 150 panasonic encoder) otherwise your sound will skip in a homedeck dvd player.

VS4 uses LSX so your behind the 8 ball before you start, its is not configurable as Doug suggests, the only way to improve your VCD's is to use a process to byepass LSX - that takes time and most are not prepared to spend the time, the choice is yours!

A. CAHOLLOWAY, please note the capitalized words. You can not make something better from what you already have. If you capture your clip at 1150Kb/s, then increase the bitrate to 2500Kb/s afterward is not going to make it any better.
