Hard to give any advice, dont know you or what you do.

Travelling is a fantastic experiance and builds character, but nothing is like home. Look at Bobby.

There is nothing to stop you returning from your travels Newcastle will always be home, I plan to come back sometime shortly to settle down.

Sorry mate but you must make your own mind up!

Gav - if the job is adequate and pays OK then this one's a real no- brainer :

Solution - give the job to me, and I'll gan hyem ....

Gav....two things:

1. It's been said on here that travelling builds character....but I got kicked from pillar to post on here for saying that about myself and my travels.

2. Yer a Geordie aren't ya?....the lure of the fog and the Dog, not forgetting that superb Chinese takeaway (the buffet one)

Go home mate...go home.

Sting, Why I call you a friend I don't know ;)) I've been away for 13 years so its damn tempting.....I do enjoy moving around and you could have a point about missing all the debauchery.....as for Washington, yup book as planned ;))

Just checked....the pay isn't as bad as I first feared....

Cheers LR!.......

Definitely pro's and con's but god I'd love to be back to see every home game again!!

Think I'll apply and see where it takes me.....I can always turn it down if I get offered it.....

Thanks all for the advice :))

I can fully understand the lure to go back to the Toon, but the experience of living and working in Moscow is quite possibly something you would never get the chance to do again.

I have been to Moscow twice (Albeit only for the weekend)and would love the opportunity to live there and experience the kind of culture they have.

I would say go East young man......then come back and go north!

>>>>>Shit!! I've just been offered the chance of a job in Newcastle!!!!

I contend that this is the most extraordinary phrase that I have ever seen on the BBS. The only more extraordinary one I could imagine would be "Yippee! I'm going to Sunderland!"

What's your problem Gav? (-;

hahaha Jonno...nice one ;))

no my dilema has nothing to do with NOT WANTING to move to Newcastle...it's more to do with the dilema of having to choose between many different places all of which hold some interest for me....at last count I had opportunities in:-

New York Moscow Northampton (my kids) London (my mates) Newcastle (My soul)

And even Bournemouth!!

-- Anonymous, June 29, 2000

Why didnt Moscow have ( bird ) referenced in it ? What does New York hold for it's not ( Stings bird ) i hope ? So what does Bournemouth mean then ( hmmmm ? ) ; - )

-- Anonymous, June 29, 2000

Sting, or should I just call you COCK?

Yes Moscow should've had bird in it, New York should've read (Debauchery) and I have NO reason to go to Bournemouth....

I assume that your comment was brought on by the fact that you knew that I used to mail Yelli rather a lot.....that is no longer the case so your information and petty blackmail material is out of date!

Kindest Regards, Gavin Herron Esq.

-- Anonymous, June 29, 2000

And yes it was by a lass before anyone goes throwing around accusations . I feel much better now , ahhhhh .

-- Anonymous, June 29, 2000

You never paid her nowt , she was gagging for it man ; - )) Sorry just on me way out doorman .

I still don't know why I spent all that time and effort trying to stop you......i'm certain I was just following orders....

Think deep Gav. I've just knocked a job back in Newcastle after much deliberation and soul searching. Try and remember the things that made you move so much in the first place. When it's time to go home you won't have to think twice about it.

But saying that, there's no finer feeling after years away than sitting on the Fri night 5pm train from Kings Cross. The 4 can Stella trip to Durham,. and those little hairs on the back of your neck starting to twitch as you cross the Tyne Bridge.

Classic!!

Regretting it already

Cheers hiro :))

I know exactly what you mean....that trip is certainly a bit special although I don't remember only having 4 Stella's ;)))

Actually as the day has gone on my initial excitement over this opportunity has wained.....it's not the town, I adore it and would love to go home.....it's a combination of other things that are making it seem like it's not quite the right thing to do at this moment...

I might as well get all of my travelling out of my system whilst I'm in the position to do it and maximise what I can earn at the same time.....

I'm certain your right Hiro and that when the time is right I won't have to think about it so hard :))

I feel kinda deflated now....

Gav

I lived in Moscow for quite a while. What is the position you've been offered? I'll tell you anything you need to know about it.
