Scout, if you can say this with any degree of seriousness, you have not seen the group of young males in their 30's to whom we afforded counsel and aid because their lives had been ruined by a gay scout master, who seduced them at that age, and as their boy's Sunday School class also.

Several could not marry. Some were married and divorced, one of whom had both a wife and a male lover. One tried suicide.

I think the Boy Scouts should be able to exclude anyone they wish, as long as they relinquish government financial grants in so doing. When tax dollars provided by the entire population are used to exclude SOME tax payers, I have a problem.

Planned Parenthood receives government grants, for instance, and not everyone wants to avail themselves of their services. I knew that because he'd told me where he lived, and he "commuted" each day to school from his home. I have two daughters and one son, and I never once looked at him and thought about what he did in his personal sex life. I'd have a problem with ANY of my kids going off on a "secluded" trip with just ONE scout leader. I haven't looked into the financial status of the girl scouts, but they've had problems in the past...typically associated with MEN forcing themselves on the girls. [Actually, I don't KNOW this to be true, but when I told my mom that my girls were going on a camping trip with scouts she related something she'd heard on Heraldo(sp?).]

To answer your question, Lesbians weren't after my daughters. Can we get it straight in everyone's mind that there's a HUGE difference between PEDOPHILES and HOMOSEXUALS?

I volunteered to go with 99% of my kids' camping trips in scouts, attic. This oddity of a troop leader in a secluded location is NOT typical. More typical is that if so many parents don't volunteer to help out, the camping trip won't even occur.

I don't have any sympathy for folks who chose to turn their children over to ONE person in a secluded environment. To me, they were looking for a baby-sitter. Had they cared about the safety of the child, they would have volunteered to attend. You think pedophiles don't notice this neglect? It's the source of their prey.
