Tim Eyman does not have a clue.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : I-695 Thirty Dollar License Tab Initiative : One Thread

And the majority of the voters in this state do not either. If people took the time to read his initiatives, we would be so much better off than we are. Instead, Eyman preys on the clueless voters of this state. Make the head line of an initiative look so appealing that it's sure to pass.

GIVE ME A BREAK! Building more roads, more lanes, etc. will not work. Look no farther than Los Angels. Alternative forms of transportation works. Look at our neighbors to the south in Portland.

It's simple emgineering folks. It's all about flow. Just like a stream. You disrupt the flow and things slow down. Adding lanes will not work because of off ramps. The idiot in the "fast" lane will disrupt flow when he/she decides to exit.

Why some continue to believe in Tim Eyman totally escapes me.

All he wants is to make a big name for himself. 695 started that, and now he continues he journey to ... whatever.

Political office, here he comes. Lord help this state if he is elected to ANYTHING!

Greg, haha I couldn't agree more. Thank you for taking the time to quickly state what's really going on here.

Greg, I look to our neighbors in the south as I travel to Salem every month, and here are my observations. When I see the trains(The MAX) pass by, I have noticed that they are half full. This occurs around three in the afternoon, as I am sitting in a full blown traffic jam on Interstate 205. Yea, Portland traffic sucks, just like ours in Seattle. Public transportation in Portland has not solved the traffic problems. The following article(http://www.publicpurpose.com/ut-lrt- pk.htm) seems to verify what I have seen with my own eyes! Like Portland, we have geographical problems that were not addressed when our interstate and road system were first developed. Do you think cars might flow freer thru downtown Seattle if there were four lanes, as opposed to traffic merging(wedging) into two lanes? As for Tim Eyman: I don't believe in Tim. I do believe in what he is trying to do, in regards to awakening the bureau rats of the need for tax relief. Actually, we need to do what Thomas Jefferson suggested: Have a Revolution to get rid of TYRANNICAL government. So Timmy's way to deal with the Socialist scum in Olympia is not so bad after all.

"Long Live the Constitutional Republic"

...And a REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC you jack-ass! (They always conveniently forget this one.) Real Simple dork: You dont like yer rep? vote him/her out (if you even know his/her name, which I highly doubt). You dont like this system? Go back to your blessed Greek city-state -- and hope to God your in the majority. (and we all hope yer not, Socrates.) "So Timmy's way to deal with the Socialist scum in Olympia is not so bad after all."

Yeah, and our way of dealing with petulent little initiative brats aint so bad either (ie. pie in the eye)

It nice to see that you've finally dubbed him "Timmy", though. (after his little courtroom temper-tantrum?)

Zowie~

I never said that I had a problem with yer SUV (guilty conscience, Freud?) I just have a problem with governing by initiative (see how well it worked in Greece, Socrates).

If you dont like this system, then go burn a constitution and see how much support youll get.

If, on the other hand, you want to overthrow the system, ("Have a Revolution to get rid of TYRANNICAL government"), then I'll see you on the front line (w/ my nice lil' Contitutionally protected SKS). Be ready to meet yer maker.

"I never said that I had a problem with yer SUV (guilty conscience, Freud?) I just have a problem with governing by initiative (see how well it worked in Greece, Socrates). "

Didn't say you did, was just pointing out that I-695 worked in getting rid of the MVET, however much you might whine about it.

"If you dont like this system, then go burn a constitution and see how much support youll get."

Not burning anything, just using my constitutionally provided right of initiative. "If, on the other hand, you want to overthrow the system, ("Have a Revolution to get rid of TYRANNICAL government"),"

You apparently didn't read Cliff's quote. He indicated that the intiative was relatively benign considering other alternatives:"Timmy's way to deal with the Socialist scum in Olympia is not so bad after all. "
This raises the issue of whether or not you can read? You obviously can't spell.

"then I'll see you on the front line (w/ my nice lil' Contitutionally protected SKS)."

In 5.56mm or 7.62mm?

"Be ready to meet yer maker."

Always!
