UK more violent than US - report

American TV audiences are being told that Britain is today a more violent society than the US.

In an extraordinary turnaround of every traditional attitude and statistic, the flagship CBS TV News proclaims this country as "one of the most violent urban societies in the western world".

By every measure of violent crime save murder, claims the CBS report, American visitors to Britain are coming to a more dangerous society than their own.

Just goes to show what you can "prove" with statistics, eh?

Interesting that crime there is on the rise at the same time they have virtually thrown Christianity out along with it's teaching's of morals and ethics.

I lived there for 7 years, and there's no way that is correct. No way, no how, uh-uh. Wishful thinking from some people who wished it were so that they could sleep better at night.

I don't agree with all of the report. The crime part may be correct from my experience but the lower murder rate is not. What they do with food is murder.

Best wishes,,,

and crap food

the problem is that the British are incapable of recognising that there is a problem, as can be seen in the article

Britian is becoming a toilet a process being hastened very rapidly by Blair's repulsive bunch of scumbags

richard, I sense that you're not entirely happy with British society or with British food. Perhaps a move is in order?

I'd move to Canada myself (my wife's country of origin), except that I don't want to give up my five weeks' holiday for the two weeks you get as standard in that country. I don't think Canadian food is much better than British food, either--although my wife would definitely disagree with me on that point...
