Telephone Service Cut Off

Many residents in Eastern Baltimore County are without phone service -- again. Bell Atlantic says a cable was cut yesterday afternoon, knocking out telephones in the Bowleys Quarters section of the county. About 1,500 homes and businesses in the 3-3-5 and 3-4-4 exchanges are affected. Less than two weeks ago, lines were hit and service was cut off to thousand in the Essex area. Officials hope to have all the lines restored by midnight.
