I burned a VCD with Nero using the VCD option, and when I put it in my dvd player, it says there's no disc, what's the problem?

Did you create/capture the mpeg to video cd standards? Your video source MUST comply to video cd standards even though nero will make it anyway.

I use Nero to burn my cd's on the same sony cd player. My mpegs video cd files I capture using a dazzle set to capture video cd. Haven't had ANY problems.

Also I'm pretty sure that player won't play CD-Rs, try burning your VCD as a CD-RW and comply with the VCD standard as the other poster mentioned and you should be O.K.
