A problem on a major power line feeding two north Baton Rouge substations caused a power outage that left 6,000 customers without electricity late Sunday.

The problem mainly affected customers along Airline Highway and Choctaw Drive, Entergy spokesman Bill Benedetto said.

Power stopped coming into one substation just after 9:30 p.m., he said. That substation feeds another, so customers who draw electricity from either were left without power, he said.

Repair crews were searching for the cause late Sunday, he said.
