Sewage from Navy facility overflows, spills into S.D. Bay UNION-TRIBUNE June 25, 2000

Sewage from a Navy facility spilled into San Diego Bay yesterday, prompting county environmental health officials to post signs warning of contamination along the Kellogg Beach area.

Some 3,300 gallons of sewage overflowed from a manhole at a submarine base on Ashburn Road on Point Loma for more than two hours.

The sewage flowed into a canyon and then into a storm drain that empties into the bay at Kellogg Beach, officials said.
