Just thee and me - the mad stotty man!
I've been at the pro golf at Slaley Hall all day yesterday and today - walked miles and miles, I'm shattered.
God only knows what the Spaniards, Italians, South African and Australian golfers think of the weather up here. The Compaq Grand Prix was totally rained out last year - apparently the first time thats ever happened to the PGA tour.
This year, after a real balmy spell last week, its back to normal - steel-grey sky, howling wind, occasional showers, and bloody cold. A lot of them were wearing wool ski caps and gloves today - welcome to Summer in the NE of England!
Well of to bed to recuperate - got to go again tomorrow!

Sweet dreams then Clarky! I`m off to groom dogs - just for a change! Thanks for the company.(:o)

Hi Jay - blimey - there must be a reason! Up coming holiday perhaps!? (:o)

Are you watching the coverage from Glastonbury? Chemical Bros. are on at the minute - they are fantastic!(:o)

No a mate and i have been watching the Runaway Bride...she picked and my I sat it's was a pile of pap!!

How you doing Gal?

I am keeping our new kitten company. He is 8 weeks old and doesn't like going to bed yet. Little scamp is about as cute as you can get and is quite certain that there is no more comfortable place in this world than on my shoulder. Smitten I am, smitten!

-- Anonymous, June 23, 2000

I`m doing OK thanks! You`ve been a bit quiet of late - in fact the BBs has been a bit dead this week. I actually think that England going out of Euro 2000 flattened a lot of people.(:o)

-- Anonymous, June 23, 2000

How many animals do youhave in that house now? Husband and kids not included? :o)

-- Anonymous, June 23, 2000

Softie! Smitten by a kitten - bet you like fluffy bunnies too" (:o) I can`t say anything - I am a sucker for baby animals!)

Jay - just the six dogs and two cats! Possibility of importing a dog from Canada next year too!(:o)

-- Anonymous, June 23, 2000

Must admit thinking of getting a kitty cat myself. I have always been a cat person.

-- Anonymous, June 23, 2000

Hey - what a bunch of hardcore football hooligans we are! Good job this BBs is password protected!(:o)

You get yourself a kitten Jay - I can`t imagine a home without animals of some sort in it. They are so uncomplicated and honest!(:o)

Tre was telling us all about his kitten this morning!

Bunnies are nice with some onions and a sprig of Rosemary ;-)

Little Jack is black and white (of course) and being a typical Geordie cat is currently trying to chew through the cables on my multi-gym. No soft furnishings for this one...God help the dogs in Willington Quay when we let this one out!

Our other cat, Tigger, has already convinced herself that she must have given birth to him and is trying in vain to discipline him with a firm tongue6ytmyyyyyyyyyyyy , Tee hee! He's just written his first message on the bbs! More wine anyone?

Gal

I am looking for a fully grown cat probably from the RSPCA of somewhere like that, but I plan to finish my DIY first

-- Anonymous, June 23, 2000

Is this how you got your name - Softie? And you haven`t been tippling have you? I strongly advise against it after my experiences last weekend!

Good call Jay - there are loads of animals needing good homes!(:o)

-- Anonymous, June 23, 2000

Jay, try the Cat Protection League, they get a bit intense about making sure that you have the cat 'done' but they are all abandoned or saved in some way. Nicola got our first cat JET from them (poor thig was run over before the Semi) but she found Tigger in a bag with her dead brother. There are some truly evil bastards out there.

Don`t get me started on animal cruelty - it makes my blood boil!

OK - Little Plum is back from the boozer - so you may have the pleasure of her company! Not room for two of us on this chair, and I have an elbow in my ribs!

Speak to you tomorrow! (:o)

Not quite Galaxy, it was the former bbs. Had to come up with a name and was expecting plenty of gip from living doon sooth in Kent so I thought it best to make a joke out of it and called myself Soft Southerner. I've had worse nicknames than Softie so it's stuck. It seems to put the lasses off for some reason mind...;-)

The GPL have open days here about once a month, so I will have a look at there next showing. It would be a house cat as I live close to several very busy roads and lots of other cats.

But I feel bad as I am not in the house a whole lot, but cats just seem to get on with it.

Gal Yes I am off on holiday in th middle of August, don't know where yet we are doing a last minute thing. Off to Africa in Feb mind.

Right I am off to bed talk to you all later.

Good night and sleep tight

Night night you two. See what I mean about the nickname folks...it gets late and they don't waste their time talking to a bloke called 'softie'. A man could get a complex :-)

-- Anonymous, June 23, 2000

OOOOhhhhhh, now I understand, I thought you were two different people! It`s my age you know, I trouble keeping up with all these name, nicknames, email addresses etc.

Ok off now - sweet dreams all!!!!!!(:o)

-- Anonymous, June 23, 2000

will complex improve the softie bit ?? ;O)))

-- Anonymous, June 23, 2000

It's even worse than I thought! They were both pretending to go to bed in the hope I would bog off! Huh! I know when I'm not wanted. Come on Jack, let's see if Rik's Cafe is still open [puts cat in raincoat pocket, turns collar up and pulls brim of hat down before disappearing into the fog whistling a tuneless air]

Sure Nic didn't get you a parrot? Check to see how long the tail is, has it got fur or feathers and is it's nose wet or hard?

-- Anonymous, June 24, 2000

A ha me ship mates.....it be Long John Bushwim......me parrot thinks it be a cat....a ha

-- Anonymous, June 24, 2000

If only I'd have been online last night I could have brought up our black and white cat, similarly called Jack.

-- Anonymous, June 24, 2000

Oi Scratchy......(or Postman Pat, whichever).....why did you eat your poor litle cat, you cruel and nasty person!

-- Anonymous, June 25, 2000

Galaxy

Pray tell, were you being serious in your earlier compliments about the Chemical Bros or just taking the micky ? If the former - most impressive. If the latter - highly undignified for a woman of your maturity !!

-- Anonymous, June 27, 2000

Loony Toon - prepare to be impressed - I thought they were out of this world! Would it also surprise you to know that my two favourite bands of recent years are Prodigy and Rage Against the Machine? Pete and I went to see the Prodigy last year with Yelli and her mates - best night out I`ve had in a decade! Completely gob-smacked her mates a few years ago, by buying the first Rage album before most of them had even heard of them! Yelli`s trying to talk us into going to see them at Reading this year - sounds good to me!(:o)

-- Anonymous, June 27, 2000

Oh and Loony - undignified? Nah! The one thing I have noticed about the generation we spawned is that they seem to be, on the whole, totally non-ageist. Nobody batted an eye about us being at the Prodigy gig, and I guess we must have been amongst the oldest there. The minute they started to play you`re just totally involved in it. I will admit to being knackered the next day, but I was on a high for days afterwards - and a totally natural one at that!!!(:o)
