Howard Wilkinson to help KK

With 'technical ability' in the England set up. Do you reckon this is a sound idea?

Can't do him any harm but it may undermine what Derek 'Exactly' has done for Keegan tactically.

Given KK's tactical naivety this is a key issue. However, he's stubborn and loyal to his close confidentes, Fazackerley and Cox, and by all accounts doesn't get on very well with Wilkinson - who does? IMO, this allegiance to these two is a real problem at this level.
In addition, Wilkinson's supposed technical ability is far from proven. He was a devotee of the long-ball game earlier in his Club managerial career, and appears to have made a mess of the U-21 Team after getting Peter Taylor kicked out so he could manage them himself, and thereby acquire himself a 'real' job.
So, this initiative seems doomed to failure in my mind, and far from guaranteed to prove successful even if KK was receptive. It does reinforce in my mind however, the fact that the FA have a high regard for Wilkinson, and that he will sit there as a constant threat to KK as the England Manager.
Call me a pessimist, but I see tears at the end of this particular road for KK.

It's pretty much like suggesting that KK just put the mascot's costume on and dances about to raise morale isn't it? Trying to insult him into resigning by any chance?

I have never thought that two man management has ever worked. Look at what happened at Liverpool. One will be edged out, and knowning Kegeen, if he doesn't get the final say, he will walk. Or maybe thats the idea.

I have to admit that I always thought KK made a better club than country manager.

I think you're right Softie. I saw this as a "off you go Kevin" statement. I no longer think KK is the man for the job. Let Wilkinson take over so I can get some abuse in!

Wilkinson has bolloxed up badly with the U21s and we were humiliated by the French in his one game in charge of the seniors. I'm not sure he's any sort of answer.

I don't want Wilkinson, but I also have my doubts over KK. Please Kevin, prove me wrong.

I see this man Keegan as the ideal replacement for Bobby Robson, once he decides to hang up his Burberry scarf of course.

What I hate is the way the papers are all banging on about YBR being the ideal technical man. Don't they realise he's already got the most important job in the world?

It's not what they said when they were hounding him out of the Ingerlund job either, is it?

It's obvious! Tout YBR for the Ingerland job so he leaves Newcastle who are starting to look like they might come good! It's all a conspiracy I tell you!! ;-)
