printer quality to maximize Nikon 990

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I recently purchased a Nikon 990. I have a HP882c printer. I would like to maximize the quality of my prints. What printers would you recommend? Also, how do you print 2 - 4 x 6 or 5 x 7's on a page? Thank You

The software that comes with 990 let you choose to print from 1 to 4 per page (letter size). If you choose 4, you will get 4 of 4 x 5 and if you should 2, you will get 2 of 5 x 7.5. In order to get exact sizes you want, you must use any other graphic softwares to resize. If you have MS Word, try the insert, picture, from file... command which you can drag the picture to resize or right click to edit (brightness, contrast, etc.) but it isn't the ideal solution. As for the printer, look at Epson photo-printer line.

ArcSoft offers a nice little print program as a free download that you might try. Go to http://home2.photoisland.com/photosharing/freedwld.html and download the "ArcSoft PhotoPrinter 2.0 LE version" It is not a trial program that will expire it just has limited functions.
