The secret life of Doug Ross

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

Long-time reader, first-time poster. I wondered if anyone was aware of this factoid upon which I stumbled. In Woody Allen's Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex but were afraid to ask, there is a vignette with Gene Wilder as a married doctor who has an affair with a sheep. His name: Dr. Doug Ross.

Yes, it's a pretty well-known thing amongst long-time Doug Ross fans. The character's name in the pilot script was "Tom Ross," and I guess someone wanted to have some fun.

This may not mean nothing to you but I was babysitting someone thispast weekend and they were watching "Bug Juice" on Disney. I think it's the producer but the name of the guy was Douglas Ross. I thought that was interesting.

What's less well known is the fact that Woody's original title for the segment about the doctor in love with the sheep was "Embraceable Ewe." (Kidding. And, ouch.)
