i am new to digital cameras but have narrowed it down to two. it will be used primarily to shoot pictures for our weekly newspaper. this is a regular tabloid size professional newspaper. we are currently scanning most of the pics.

should i buy the sony dscs770 or the nikon coolpix990? is the nikon that much better that it's worth the extra couple hundred?

go for the Nikon--I output images from Sonys up to the $40K canon and nikons. Don't like the sony outputs!
