First full day of duty on the Women's Gold Cup...and have found another Toon fan! Another Yank, of Cuban/Puerto Rican heritage. Heard about the team from a friend of hers who spent a year at school in Newcastle. Her friend raved so much about the city and team, that Crissy became a convert. She has yet to see them play, but will remedy that at DC United in July as she's staying there for the summer. Ahhh..the power of the Geordie nation! :-)

Have also been told that there are a few more Toonies in Louisville. Will check that out in about a week.

You guys have my deepest admiration. I've been brainwashed just about from birth to be a NUFC fan and have hardly had to consider there might be something else - really had no choice.

You have every club in every country in the world to choose from and pick one that, for years, has had underachievement off to a fine art. You'll have me chuckin me cynical pills down the john if you're not careful.

I reckon it's one of the better results of globally televised footy. Anyway, hope you enjoy the summer tour - there are little pangs of envy sprouting cos I'd love to see the states again. Only been once but it was one of the best holidays we've ever had.
