Were you a dork when you were little? Did you sit on the playground and read and hope that no one bopped you in the head with a kickball? I'm not the only one, right?

Yes, I was a dork when I was little. You weren't the only one. :) We weren't allowed to take books outside (dammit), so I generally hung out with a couple other dorks and tried to stay out of the way of the rabid "popular" kids and their crazy playground games. I think I was a little afraid of joining in playground games after an incident in third grade where I played four-square with some other kids, wound up colliding with a boy who was also going after the ball, and got shoved (face-first) to the pavement by said boy. So I got to make a little visit to the emergency room to get stitches. *grumble* So I was quite content to stick with my nice, quiet, dorky friends, away from the action. Thank god I got over that once I hit college. :)

Oh, and "Welcome to the Dollhouse" is available from Amazon.com for $19.76. It ships in 24 hours. :)

~~Nope. You weren't the only one. Most of the time thats where I spent my days...on the sidelines. My mom didn't want me to participate in sports since I have a bad eye and she didn't want anything happening to the one good one. So, essentially, I had a doctor's note for just about everything...except kickball...and I was always the last to get picked. I still got bopped on the head with one standing in outfield. I couddn't catch worth a damn.

I was deemed an outcast by the time I hit second grade. And have been one ever since.

Such sad little lives we lead.

I might continue this in a bit....

I was definitely, undeniably a total dorky little kid. I always had only one or two close friends and I was a creepy little bookworm type who would rather read than anything else. I probably would've been picked on, too except for the fact that I was a neophyte amazon and nobody dared pick on me because they were probably afraid I'd kick their uptight, popular little kickball playing asses...and you know what? I probably would have.
