Need help to resize photos from a Fuji MX-2700 to print off

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have an MX 2700 and have taken about 120 pics while on vacation in Potugal. I am home now in Canada and want to print some off. Most of my photos were taken at the 640 x 480 res with "fine" setting and a few were taken at the 1800 x 1200 res. I need to know how you resize photos in the 640 x 480 size so you can print them off to 4 x 6 or 5x7. What is the best size to print the 1800x 1200 pictures. I have photoshop 5.5 and am using a Lexmark 3200 inkjet with photo cartridge and Lexmark photo paper. I don't know how to resize the photos to print them off to standard print sizes. my computer is a PC PIII-550 with 128 ram. Hope this enough info for those to help me out.

First of all your 640 x 480 pictures are low resolution so the best you can do on prints is 3 x 5 or maybe 4 x 6. WIth your high res. pictures you can print at least 8 x 10 if you want. In Photoshop go to the Image menu then click on Image size turn off resample and size your picture how you want it in the print box. You will the have to slightly crop your image to get the exect dimensions that you want for your print
