I need urgent help

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have "Unlead Video Studio 4.0" and "Ahead Nero" Burning Rom and the necsessary Hardware drives.

I wan't to compile my own short "VCD's" using my new Computer which i can then play back on my Pc "DVD" player or my other standalone DVD Player in my downstairs living quarters.

I have so far set up my standalone DVD player and connected via "S-VHS" out to my computer - i am using "LASERDISCS" and i use "Unlead video studio" to capture 30 sec's of film from my Laserdisc and to my Horror it was only 30 seconds long but the file size was 247MB - Now by my estimations i'll be lucky to fit one song on my "CDR ie - VCD"

aM I TRYING TO USE THE WRONG CAPTURE FRAME RATE OR WHAT???

I HAVE TRIED MPEG2/MPEG1/PAL VCD/ NTSC VCD ALL THE SAME MASSIVE FILES RESULTED.

COMPREHENSIVE EXPLAINATION OF THE PROPER SETTINGS URGENTLY NEEDED.

PLEASE HELP.

It seems you are not capturing it right. You may want to use a different capture program such a s VirtualDub. It could also be that you are not using video compression. By using compression your video clips will be much smaller in size. Are you capturing to AVI or MPEG? You will get better quality if you capture in AVI then convert to MPEG. For a Video CD the frame size is 352x240 (NTSC)

Ulead Video Studio 4.0 has a 'built in' VCD setting for capturing your video. I think you're just have some trouble finding it. Go through the process again and find the VCD/NTSC capture template prior to capture.
