I have had my Maine Coon for about 5 years, I have recently become divorced and have moved into a new house. My cat now seems to have a problem pooping. He used to go every day now it is once every three days. I have had him to the vets and they seem to think it is an allergy problem. I have him on medication. He had no problems in the past. Does anyone have any suggestions on this problem? The vet has also told me to give him a natural laxative every two or three days. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I have three Maine Coon cats, and two of them I have not had a problem with, however, the other one use to get sick alot. He would spit up fur balls (so I thought they were fur balls) all the time, but no litter box action. One night he was vomiting for a few hours about every fifteen minutes so I took him to an emergency clinic. There thank god they took extensive x-rays and descovered he was eating everything from plastic to rubberbands to any kind of string he could get a hold of. I have to watch him so close all the time now to make sure he is pooping everyday, and had to kitty proof my house. Has your vet taken x-rays? If you think that there might be a problem like this make sure they take x-rays. He could have eaten something he shouldnt have. I wish you the best!
