Where can I get developed film put on Picture CD's?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have about 12 rolls of developed APS film and 6 developed 35mm rolls that I would now like to put on Kodak Picture CDs. All the places I have looked only want undeveloped film. I tried the in-house scanning services of a large national camera chain, but the resulting images they produced were of poor resolution and color and looked horrible compared to the Kodak prints made a year ago from the same negatives. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think our Wolf Camera here does that, though it's fairly pricey. If you have one around you, check with them and see.

Another option is wwww.ofoto.com. They want go to CD, but if you mail them your negatives, (I know, scary, but they have a good reputation), they will scan them and place them online in your new photo albums account. You can then order prints or save the pics to your computer where, if you have a CDR drive, can burn your own CD. More hassle, but probably cheaper and better quality control.

The Kodak CD's are bad quality - about a 150 dpi scan (at a local photography house in Dallas). You would be best off getting a film scanner that can do bulk scans and has an APS attachment (Nikon LS-2000 seems to fit that bill).

I'm sure you can find a local Ritz Camera or as the previous post said, a Wolf Camera. Just call around and state you need developed film scanned. That many rolls...can't imagine them turning you away.
