Any idea why large MPEG files do not burn, but small MPEG/large data files do?

Hi all, I have only been successful inasfar as I can burn 2 small MPEG clips (5 to 10 mins each) on a VCD, but when I tried to burn 30 mins MPEG clips, the software freezes and cannot work. It seems to indicate that it's an ASPI problem even though the recorder can work for the shorter clips. I've tried the following:

reducing speed, reducing system resources, defragmented the system various times, reinstalled the Adaptac software, plugged out the other USB devices and reinstalled the roothub and USB driver and HP recorder 8200 driver, cleared the hard drive space, called for technical support, to no avail.

I'm using Adaptec deluxe 4.01----This problem does not occur with data or audio files, only LARGE MPEG files. Some suggest its's the SCSI, some suggest it's the software and others say it's the RAM.

System breakdown: 600 MHz Pentium, 64 MB memory, 10 GB hardisk with 5 GB free.

Regards Angela

It's me answering my own question---I want to share this with everyone.....the answer is: create a disc image first for the computer to be able to handle large MPEG files.
