IBM micro drive

Does the micro drive fit in most digital cameras? I just recieved mine and find that it does not fit in the nikon 990. It is thicker than flash memory cards.

The microdrive is a type II CF device. The IBM web site has a list of competible cameras.

I looked high and low on the ibm site. I don't see a list of compatable cameras. Perhaps they have taken it down.

As mentioned above, the Microdrive requires a compactflash type II slot.

Click "Compatibility Matrix" near the bottom of the above link. Then click "By Digital Camera" near the top of the next screen.

Also, IBM just recently announced a 1GB model that will be available in September: http://yahoo.cnet.com/news/0-1006-200-2113537.html

The story says the drive will cost less than $500. With the current 340MB drive costing nearly $400, I'd certainly recommend waiting, if possible.
