Seen any good movies lately?

Summer blockbuster season is in full swing, and I want to know what I should see and what I should avoid. C'mon, spill it! What made you want to retch into your popcorn bucket? What had you on the edge of your seat?

OOOOH! Yeah, I saw the trailer for "X-Men" when I saw "Titan AE" too, and I about wiggled out of my seat. It looked extremely cool. I'm there.

I'm going to be crushed if it sucks.

I was on such a long movie hiatus. I really missed going to the theatre! Even now, I'm contemplating going again, soon. Dunno what I want to see yet though. Maybe "Gladiator".

All righty... I know some of you have seen "X-Men" already... come talk about it! And if you haven't? Why not?! Er, I mean, what have you seen, then? :)

Movies, huh? Well I just saw 'Titan A.E.' the other day and I thought it was pretty good. Really, any movie that blows up the Earth in the first five minutes is off to a good start, don't you think? ;-)

While I was there I saw a preview for 'X-Men', and realized that if I don't see it I will probably die. My goddess, if it's half as good as that preview, it will kick some serious ass!

Also looking forward to 'The Patroit' with Mel Gibson. Why? Cause of Mel Gibson of course, I *have* eyes you know.

I went to see Shanghai noon a few weeks back. It was pretty cool; but the setpieces were a bit sparse, at least in my opinion. And the White Guy sidekick was sort of annoying. But when he got on my nerves too much, I just pictured his decapitation in the Haunting, and it was all better.

I saw Titan AE, and confess to getting all choked up when the Earth blew up. I mean, that was my planet? I was summarily cheery when New Earth (aka Bob) was created, but I think my favorite part was Janeane Garafalo's alien weapons specialist character - now there was a gal who loved her job! I saw the X-Men preview too, and already picture the 'headache' I'm going to get to leave work early to be able to see it on opening night.

Shanghai Noon was cute, and I thought it was better then Rush Hour. The jokes were a little too ethnic for my taste at times, but I knew it was all in good fun.

Shaft. It's got Samuel L Jackson. What else can I say? Damn right.

The X-Men was AWESOME! I'm sooo glad the Marvel movies are making a good show (after Captain America several years ago, and some others, amny of us Marvel fans were losing hope. They played with the timeline a bit, OK a lot, but for some reason, it didn't matter. The casting was great, the story was great, and I think the best part was the cameos and nonchalant portrayal of the young mutant students as the camera panned through the school. again, it was AWESOME. (It has to be, the newspapers dogged it...)

Good movie: Chicken Run

It is far from being a kid's "cartoon". It's really good. There's a lot of things blowing up and it's funny! It's also good for fans of old comedic war movies, or just old war movies in themselves.

It also had Mel Gibson in it.

From the creators of Wallace and Gromit comes: Chicken Run!
