I was watching "Abby Road" last night and I was thinking about how hard it was to watch Lucy, going on with life like normal, knowing that in 4 days (in the show)she was going to die. I almost cried everytime I saw her. Does anyone else share my feelings?

I did too. I don't think I'll be able to watch it. By the way did anyone else notice that this season she only did scenes with a few of the main characters and all of her storylines had to do with a patient with heart problems? Weird, huh? Benton and Ramano were the only characters she had some scenes with. I don't mean for just a second but for a minute or two type scenes. She had no contact with Carter until right before she got killed. None with Carol (then again Carol doesn't like med students) except for when she complimated Carol on what she was knitting in that one episode. Carol couldn't even say thank-you which I thought was mean of her. None with Liz, Kerri, Mark, ect. I wonder ehy that is.

Something I found eerie, besides watching Carter and Lucy in action days before we know they're going to be attacked, was Carter's patient Darnel. Darnel was physically unable to do everything he was used to doing, was tired of people trying to help him and tried to assure people he could take care of himself. Kind of like Carter after the attack. I found both Carter and Lucy hard to watch. I'm a little worried Be Still My Heart and All in the Family are going to affect me more this time around. I never taped them and have been obsessed with ER since and this is going to be the first time I'm going to see those episodes in three months.

Joanne, that probably will be strange, I almost wish I hadn't taped them, because then I could experience it again, but instead I've watched them a whole lot. The thing is, Carter and Lucy are so alike as doctors, in the way they treat patients and how it still affects them. I have also been watching season 5, and Carter actually tells Kerry (while they're making dinner for Benton and Lucy) that he will miss Lucy when she transfers to her surgical rotation. Now only if he could admit that now; it really bothers me how little they were together for this season. I enjoyed Luka comforting Lucy outside after the Domino Heart a lot, it was a nice scene, but I wish it had been Carter, just for some character continuity, and the fact that these two characters that have a history were also stabbed together.

I think another thing is I've been watching the season six reruns on NBC. I've been specifically watching for all interaction between Carter and Lucy and even Lucy and the rest of the staff. The little conversation with Luka, and then with Abby on the roof (both things I didn't even pay attention to the first time) had more meaning because those are two more people who sort of reached out or looked to Lucy. The first time I saw those episodes, I didn't know what was coming so little things like that didn't make that much of a difference. It's weird how something can change perspective on what happened in the past.

I just saw the episode were Lucy Knight dies here in Spain. They show it thursdays at night. I still don't understand why she died, but I suppose it must be something to do with some sort of job offer in another tv program or movie. I think she had the best part because she had a lot of possibilities, with all her first pacients, her first experiences, and she was also the youngest. I liked her discussions with Carter, how he just didn't pay any attention... Couldn't they take out Kerry? (I hate her) I'm really sad for this, and I think this was the best episode I've ever seen. I just can't stand remembering the scene where she is lying on the bed, and she tries to talk to Dr. Elizabeth and she says "thank you". Thanks to Kellie Martin for her great perfomance.

I was very sad when lucy died, it was something i never expected. Sometimes when I watch E.R, I wish lucy will pop up somewhere.

Well, Zeon and Ines, I'm half Spaniard and I only partly agree with you! I, too, hated that Lucy died. It was, and still is, quite sad.But, I would have hated it more if it had been Kerry who died. She's one of my favorite characters.

Oh, I forgot!! The best part...It will interest you both to know, Zeon and Ines, that the director of the episode in which Lucy is stabbed is none other than the actor, Laura Innes, who plays your least favorite character: Kerry. How's that for dramatic, bitter irony? Even more ironic, isn't Spanish cinema well known for it's high drama?!

Laura Innes did a masterful job at directing "Be Still My Heart". The last scene, the way she takes the actors and the setting and the music ("Battleflag" by Lo- Fidelity All Stars for those of you who don't know) is riveting. I just saw the rerun as well, and it again sent chills down my spine.
