Just wanted to know if the brand name makes any difference with compact flash cards.

The general differences may be undetectable for regular users but more importantly is the speed of the CF. The Lexar 8X USB enable w/ Jumpshot connection will transfer your pict very very fast and that is when we notice the difference because we don't like to wait.
