greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

Just looked at the thread on death and humiliation. I admit that I didn't read all the way through but in retrospect you should have left A&L out of it. I didn't agree with a lot of what they said either but your thread spent more on their other beliefs than on the title of the thread.

Bingo, I don't believe that death humiliates the dying but only the living and only for a short time. Nothing left but sadness after a loved one has gone. I watched my father die a most painful (according to doctors) death. There's nothing humilitating about it. I only hope that he reached his goals for this life. Actually A&L got this one right but their conflicts with Y2K showed little of the compasion they had for their patients.

Maria,

That thread was one long nightmarish experience. I hope you'll understand if I reserve comment.

Bongo,

I'll take this thread a' veerin', as is my custom, & ask if any of your dear bowzers is especially prone to humiliatin'.

Many are sensitive souls, as you well know. I had a friend who used to mimic the squat that his English springer went into when nature called. You've never seen such humiliation flashed back from a furry face in your life. { Or mebbe you have }.

Have you ever howled at them once the airwaves became densely aromatic?

As for reincarnatin', would anyone sign up for duty as the family dog? Now that's a mission!

Hey, flora. Don't mind my mood. I went down to the basement to tape a t.v. show for my wife who's away, lo & behold the water heater decided to dump itself fully at some point today. Spent the past 3+ hours just the shop vac & me. Carpets are ruined. Place stinks. Humidity is over 80% - so much for evaporation.

As with protagonist Alvin Smith in Orson Scott Card's Alvin Maker series, water is out to get me. No bout a doubtit. Replaced two submersible pumps in past 6 months. Just replaced two water pipes in the basement last week. Now the water heater dumps a minimum of 60 gallons. Won't bore you with my past rental history, suffice to say indoor floods are NOT uncommon.

What did you ask me, flora? Are my dogs prone to embarrassment? Bingo Jr. is, absolutely. I mess with her head all the time - good naturedly of course. She gets fake pissed at me & we get extremely silly. My wife is no longer amazed at our rapport - Bingo Jr. & I. A bit jealous & rightly so. Black Lab/Dalmation mix with a vocabulary to rival more than a few people on TB2000.

She is humiliated she's stuck in a dog body. She moo's a great deal. I check to see if she's in pain. The look on her face tells the story. She's just frustrated. Nothing I can do except give her more responsibility, stretch her limits.
