You should save the file to disk normally, using a file format that e-mail browsers can understand. Usually this means using the compressed JPEG format. Now you'll have a file called "somename.jpg" in a directory on your harddisk (where somename is whatever name you've saved it as).

Compose your e-mail message as normal, and then look for a button, or menu item, called "Attachment". Click on this and it should ask you for the name and directory location of the file to be attached. Most e-mail packages will give you the option to browse for files at this point. Either browse for the file or type in the filename and its path.

It's courteous to let the recipient of the e-mail know in the message that you've attached something, otherwise they might think it's a virus and delete it without opening it.

Try to keep attached files as small as possible as e-mail servers don't allow sending files larger than the amount of space that's allocated by the system to each user. Also, you can clog up the recipients mailbox if their server doesn't allow them enough space. Files under 100k in size should be safe. This means using fairly high compression, and therefore low-quality JPEGS.

Good luck Norman. (My hair colour, if not my age, qualifies me as a "Silver Surfer" too)
