I think that no one really knows the mental illness Poe suffered from. Someone thinks that Poe was an epileptic. Is there any psychologist or psychiatrist supporting this hypothesis? Where can I find reference studies, books, articles, etc. about epileptic Poe?

I had heard that Poe was epileptic as well. In reading current material on the internet I find nothing to support this. What did you find out? I know I had an old volume of his work from the early 20th century, and I believe it may have been included in the biographical portion. I had the book with me for a number of years, but haven't got it with me now. I see your posting is dated. Please let me know. Thank you!
