Ginola for Villa?

Teamtalk today:

Aston Villa have been linked with a #3million bid for Tottenham Hotspur's French winger David Ginola. Villa boss John Gregory has apparently been given permission to speak to Ginola to thrash out a deal to sign the talented star. The 33-year-old fell out with Spurs' boss George Graham last season as he found himself substituted on a regular basis which is why he seems destined to leave White Hart Lane. At this moment in time, the only stumbling block to a possible deal is the player's #25,000-a-week wages he currently picks up at Spurs. Villa are expected to make a statement shortly on whether they are seeking to sign Ginola.

Surprised WHam don't make an effort for Fell-over, 'cos they like signing players that come with a bagful of attitude too.

West Ham can't afford him this year. They are funding some redevelopment works on their little stadium and can only afford to sign 'frees' now, according to my WH supporting mate. Expect theie ticket prices to be hiked up next season, that'll mean #40 a ticket for basics!!

Gregory's got this knack of signing players for too much cash, playing them for a little while and then going off them....

Wonder if Ginola is cos he's maybe resigned to losing Carbuncle??

That's not a bad buy if you think about how much they paid for colly and letting him go for free?... ouch....

Ginola is a player of high skill and speed. These must already be on the wane aged 33. #3m is too much IMHO.

Ginola's got more skill in his big toe than Steve Stone altogether. I can see him still playing to the required standard in the Prem when he's 35. I never thought he relied too much on his pace, just skill and strength to go past people. #3 mill is a bit much though!

It's not an ambitious move for Ginola considering he feels his time at Newcastle & Spurs was a waste. It would not surprise me to see him turn it down and move to Rangers or summat.

Spurs Fans Rap Graham Over Ginola Sale George Graham has been accused by the Tottenham Action Group of trying to turn Spurs into 'boring, boring Arsenal' after agreeing to sell David Ginola to Aston Villa. Tottenham have agreed a #3million fee with Villa for the 1999 Footballer of the Year.

It is now down to Ginola to approve the move, but even if he rejects the transfer he is unlikely to stay at White Hart Lane now that Graham has made it clear he does not figure in his plans.

And no one asks why Graham is willing to sell one of the best left wingers in the EPL. Well last season he bought Etherington from the Posh and started playing him towards the end of the season. Well guess who will be starting for Tottenham next season at LW.

Aaargghhh. @#*!

And when he plays every game next season to rave reviews he can look forward to Michael Owen's or Ryan Giggs's susequent injury records.
